September 23, 1959 – June 22, 2025.
Alan Thomas Gervais, of Montrose, completed his journey here on Earth on June 22, 2025. Alan fought a courageous battle with terminal liver cancer for three years, facing each day with incredible strength and resilience. Despite his illness, his spirit remained unbroken, and he continued to bring joy and love to those around him until the very end.
Alan was a kind and loving man whose greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his two beloved grandsons, Levi and Rowan. He was a proud father and a devoted grandfather, always ready to share laughter and love with those closest to him.
Alan’s love for the outdoors took him on many trips up north, where he found peace and solace in nature. Whether it was hunting, sitting by the bonfire, or simply enjoying the quiet beauty of the world around him, these moments were a reflection of his gentle spirit and deep appreciation for life.
Preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Edythe Gervais, and his brother-in-law Fred Somers. Alan is survived by his daughter, Alisha Gervais (Jordan Lalonde), and his grandsons, Levi and Rowan Donnelly. He is also mourned by his brothers, Dean Gervais (Melanie Smith), Don Gervais (Cheryl Gervais), Mark Gervais (Donna Gervais), and Dale Gervais (Cindy Gervais), as well as his sisters, Nancy Somers (Fred Somers) and Denise Hibbs (Gary Hibbs). He leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews as well.
Alan was known for his boundless generosity—always ready to lend a helping hand, offer a kind word, or give the shirt off his back to someone in need. His caring nature and selflessness left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
A private celebration of Life will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to “The Lavigne Home for Compassionate Care,” in Burton, MI- in his memory.
Alan’s presence will be deeply missed, but his love, kindness, and the memories he created with his family and friends will live on forever in our hearts.
