Aletha graduated from Flint Central High School. Aletha worked at AC in Flint during World War II making parts for rifles. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse retiring from McLaren Hospital, Flint. She enjoyed a northern Michigan cabin with her family along with a passion for fishing. After retiring, she volunteered with the McLaren auxiliary and loved to play Bingo.
Aletha is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Paul) Rupert; grandchildren: Pamela (BJ), Christine (Todd), and Michael (Bonnie); great grandchildren: Zachary and Adelynn; brother-in-law, Richard Brickel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Fickes; sister, Kathleen Brickel; and daughter, Mary Fickes.
A visitation for Aletha will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 from 12pm-1pm with a funeral service at 1pm at Reigle Funeral Home – 5501 W Pierson Rd, Flushing, Michigan. Aletha will be laid to rest at Flint Memorial Park following the services.
