Gary, My heart aches for you during this difficult time. I am sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I remember about five years ago now, at my house, when you were talking with her on the phone. She was in Arizona. I noticed how jokingly, but mostly how lovingly, you spoke to her during that conversation. Hugs to you now, Gary, as I am leaving for Arizona on Saturday to spend a few days with my daughter and her family who now live there. To your family, my thoughts are with them, as well. Patty

My name is Laurie Hayes and I work for American House North on the weekends and holidays. It was my good fortune to meet Betty last Spring when she arrived at American House. When I first met her she was glowing with a wonderful tan...covered in jewelry....and ready to "shake things up". I told her numerous times that she was the best thing that had happened to American House in a long time. She would come into the office when I was working, and ask for copies of sheet music that she could share with the American House Choir she had started.....and while the copies were being made, she would share with me some of her wonderful life experiences....we spent alot of time together. Sometimes I thought that she didn't leave the apt., the weekends that I worked, because she knew how much I enjoyed hearing her play. My Mom, Irene Zimm, was also a resident of American House, while Betty was there, and they became friends. My Mom passed in October, 2010, but would do her best to get to the lobby....if Betty was playing. I will miss your Mom....she became a 2nd Mom to me....but will ever be grateful that we were able to share some time together...God Bless Betty....She was wonderful!!! Take care, Love, Laurie.
