Christopher Andrew Dutil, age 37 of Flint, went to be with his Lord after a long struggle with drug addiction on May 3, 2018. Funeral services will be at 11am on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 2111 Flushing Rd., Flint. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 3-8pm at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing and again on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at church, beginning at 10am. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Life Challenge Ministries of Flint through their Facebook page. Chris (Bubby) was born February 9, 1981, beloved son of Tim and Karen Dutil. Chris was a graduate of Flint Central High School class of 1999 and The University of Michigan-Flint class of 2008. He grew up attending Calvary United Methodist Church and was baptized at New Life Christian Fellowship in February, 2017. Chris had a loyal and giving heart and was always a hard worker. Chris enjoyed playing golf, bike riding, working out, and all kinds of sports. He would always say he was a Michigan fan by degree but a Michigan State fan in his heart. When up north at the family cabin, he loved to be out on the lake fishing. He recently completed a one-year residential program through Life Challenge Flint and was currently working as an intern there. He had a great concern for the current residents there to stay strong and finish the program. Chris had many friends, a great sense of humor and a wonderful way with people. He loved his family greatly and especially loved being big Uncle Bubby to his nine nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his parents Tim and Karen Dutil; sisters Amy (Vinnie) Wall, Audrey (Joshua) Decker, Betsy (Blake) Selvig; nieces and nephews, Adelyn, Grady, Estlin, Lydia, Harrison, Olin, Seth, Mannix, and Vera; Grandmother Mary Weber and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by Grandfather Robert Weber, Grandfather and Grandmother Jack and Betty Dutil, Uncle Mark Dutil and niece Estlin Luna Wall. Special thanks to the staff at Life Challenge Ministries of Flint for their care and concern for Christopher. The family also wants to extend heartfelt appreciation to the many others who come alongside those struggling with addiction.
