He enjoyed golfing, playing poker, bowling, and cooking. More than anything, he loved his family, or as he would call them, his “Party of Five,” a tribe that did everything together. He was a loving papa, husband, father, son, and a great brother. Dan loved his job and in return was very well respected and loved by his MPS (Aramark) family. His sense of humor and fun loving personality will be missed by all who were lucky to have known him.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Ellen (Hynds) Bailey; son, Daniel (Mariah-Lynn Marie) Bailey II; granddaughter, Juliette Marie Bailey; father, Gerald (Mary Baum) Bailey; siblings: Teresa (Larry), Phyllis (Kenny), Greg, Ricky (Della), Steve (Gina); best friends: Andy Williams and Chris Brooks; and his cat, Brady Bailey. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Bailey.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 1-4pm at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 6494 S. Belsay Rd., Grand Blanc. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a memorial contribution to the family for Dan’s granddaughter’s college fund – he was very passionate about teaching Juliette and spoke often about the importance of her education.
