Delores "Dee" Patterson
August 20, 1943 – May 16, 2019
Delores “Dee” Joann Patterson, of Flushing, Michigan, was welcomed into her heavenly home on May 16th. Born to Mary and Lee Adams in Flint, Michigan on August 20, 1943, Delores enjoyed and spoke fondly her childhood, living on Kelly Road in Flushing. It was her first and most important priority to share the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ to her family and friends as she lived God’s love to all that knew her. Her signature gift of joy through laughter, competitive spirit, and constant smiling will never be forgotten. She loved being outdoors, gardening, and manicuring her yard. Delores spent the majority of her retirement years enthusiastically caring for others as she pursued nursing for a short time many years earlier. A top priority was to spend time with family, attend their sporting events, and eagerly celebrate their accomplishments. Her adventurous nature took her on many excursions such as skydiving in Arizona and walking the Mackinac Bridge as she was not afraid to travel anywhere. She felt especially gratified uncovering family history and researching her families, heritage. Delores retired from GM on October 1, 1996. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Flint, Michigan and she volunteered at the East Side Mission. Delores is survived by her daughter Calinda (Jon) Young; Grandchildren Brett (Rachel) Sayre, Bo Sayre, Andrew Sayre, Ashlie Young (Allen Uhelski) and Cody Young; Great Grandchild Riley Sayre; Siblings Ron (Shirley) Adams and Donna (Dan) Crist; Aunt & Uncle and many cousins. She is preceded in death by husband Pat Patterson; son Tony Sutphin; parents Lee and Mary Adams; siblings Gary Adams, Leah Shoemaker, and Barbara Clevenger; and much loved family.
