BERGEY, Garry (Shooter) – of Flushing, age 65, passed away Friday, July 5, 2013 at his home. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Road, Flushing, with Fr. Jay Gantz officiating. Visitation 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday. Garry was born April 6, 1948 in Hamilton, Ontario the son of the late Gordon and Marjorie Bergey. He served in the U.S. Navy in Viet Nam. He retired from General Motors after 33 years of service. Garry was a long time member of A.A. with 26 years of sobriety. His love of riding motorcycles led him to let people know that they could still ride and have fun and be sober. He was a longtime member of the Spirit Riders, his yearly highlights were the canoe trip with A.A., dances, and his all time favorite was Bike Week in Florida. Surviving are: wife, Cheryl; son, Brian and wife Deanna; daughter, Tonya and husband Bob Gos; 2 step-sons, Josh and Jeremy Hood; grandchildren: Kyle, Cole, and Kelly; brother, Chuck Bergey; sister-in-law, Charlene; mother-in-law, Angie; sister-in-law, Debbie and husband Carl; brothers-in-law, Art and wife Sara and Matt and wife Kathy; and numerous friends.
