Joyce Anne Palacios

PALACIOS, Joyce A. – age 67 of Flushing, MI passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 12:00PM with services to follow at 1:00PM at Reigle Funeral Home – Sunset Chapel – 5501 W. Pierson Rd. Flushing, MI. Her final resting place will be at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Joyce was born in Chicago, IL on July 13, 1948 to the late John and Jane (Pearson) Smit. She attended Detroit Bible College for Biblical studies. Joyce worked at Methodist Children Village in Redford, MI. She also received her LPN degree from Mott Community College and had worked in various settings of nursing until her retirement. She is survived by her husband, Donald Palacios; 3 sons, Luke Palacios, Matthew Palacios (Dawn Allen), and Dominic (Kristin) Palacios; sister, Judi Gabriel; brother, John (Elizabeth) Smit; special friends and in-laws, Lee (Donna) Jarboe, Clara Myers; 4 granddaughters, Haley Palacios, Josephine Palacios, August and Sierra Allen; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff of McLaren CCU and McLaren Hospice for their care and support. Those desiring may make contributions to the family.
