Lawrence Albert Putney

Lawrence A. Putney, age 83, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016. He was born in Dexter, Missouri on May 24, 1932 to parents John and Lilly (James) Putney. Lawrence worked for many years at C.A. Adkins Construction and later retired from L.A. Construction. He was a member of the Operators Engineering group. Lawrence enjoyed many things like fishing, hunting, and gardening, but he especially liked talking to people and keeping good company. Lawrence is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sadie May (Stahley) Putney; children: Donna Faye (Randy) Witten, Dawn Rene (Ricky) Kortas, Greg (Sherry) Putney, David (Marva) Putney; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters: Violet Alline Baker, Ora Frances Putney; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by both parents; son, Lawrence Anthony Putney; 14 siblings. A funeral service will take place at 2:00pm on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Reigle Funeral Home (5501 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing). Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00pm.
