It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louis R. Hazen II, age 68, of Flint, Michigan. Louis passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Grew up in a farming community, Louis spent his early years cultivating a love for the land and sharing countless adventures and getting into trouble with his friend Gary Wonders. This spirited nature followed him throughout his life, shaping the man he became.
For over 40 years, Louis dedicated himself to the open road as a truck driver, traversing every state in the continental United States, except for Alaska and Hawaii. His truck was not just a vehicle; it was a home on wheels, where he shared countless miles with his beloved dog, Axle.
In addition to his passion for driving, Louis found joy in fishing and camping, often spending quality time outdoors with his significant other, Cathy. His favorite phrase, "Ridin' & Guidin'," perfectly encapsulated his love for the freedom of the road and the adventures that awaited him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, cherished by his family and friends. He is survived by his sister; Laura Hazen, son: Charles Hazen ( Holly) Bastien, daughter; Kristina(Chad) Tedder, significant other; Catherine Teddy, grandson; Chase Tedder and "Trixie the damn dog", and many relatives and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
