BARTLETT, Velma J. – Age 78, passed away, Monday, June 27, 2011 at Avalon Hospice. Mrs. Bartlett was born August 27, 1932 in Good Hart, MI the daughter of Edward and Ann Masteau. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians. Velma had many hobbies including sewing, golf, baking and traveling. She was also a Mary K consultant. On October 16, 1948 Velma Masteau married Ralph Bartlett and he survives her. Also surviving are daughter, Kathy Bartlett; granddaughter, Jennifer (Jon Sargent) Jackson; great granddaughter, Whitney Sargent; brother, Jim Scott of Traverse City; sisters, Norma Lee of Toledo, Ohio, Ireta (Richard) Persing of Sandusky, Ohio, Diane (Ron) Trafas of Flushing; many nieces and nephews; and her cat Rosie. Mrs. Bartlett was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Ann Masteau, brother, Howard Masteau. Friends may visit the family from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Reigle Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2011 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint. Father Robert Copeland will officiate.
