102 and a half!
That’s how many years of Aggie we get to celebrate.
Through all those 102 1/2 years Aggie went with the flow and adapted to all the new technologies – she was not intimidated. She was really interested in Facebook and I have no doubt she would have been on her own computer but the arthritis in her fingers prevented her from typing.
Last week I was on the phone with her and I heard what sounded like another phone ringing in the background. When I asked what it was, she said “goo goo is telling me my baked potatoes are ready”.I asked who is Goo Goo and she said “you know, that thing you all have”.  Of course! a google device Suzy had given her so that she could tell it to play music, but I guess she found a better use for it.
We all know that Aggie loved her wheels.  She told me the story of how she first started driving a car.  It was the early 1950s and she wanted to learn how to drive but was a little scared.  She told this to her brother Tom who responded “Agnes, any idiot can learn how to drive – I’ll help you”.  This began a driving legacy that lasted into her early 90s.  Aggie loved her freedom.
Something else Aggie loved, and is probably best known for, was talking to people.  She was truly interested in what someone had to say, and everyone could feel that and felt very comfortable talking to her.  Many times I would be waiting in my bedroom upstairs for my friends to arrive and wondering why they were so late.  Of course they had never made it past the kitchen because Aggie was always ready for a good chat!  Eventually the phone became her lifeline – and she did respond to voicemail!
In the family Aggie was known for her commitment to laundry.  She ran a 24/7 operation and many of her grandchildren benefitted from her expertise and dedication . She was truly Mistress of the Laundry.

This week we wished Her Aggyness a safe trip Traveling With Angels❤ my heart is shattered. Grandma was always filled with so much personality and touched many lives with her Aggyisms, open door, and open phone line- ok, well, the phone was usually busy, but if you were lucky enough to call her while she was watching Judge Judy or in-between phone calls, you had her ear and she had yours❤. 

Throughout my life, gram was my parent, my best friend, and my cheerleader. She was always the first to hear any news I had to share and the first to be proud.  I'm devistated that we won't have any more physical time together, but I know I've got enough Aggy (stubborn irish woman) in me for her to always live on in my heart.

I know she wouldn't want to see me cry- and she certainly would never say goodbye, which I don't want to do either..she was never one for goodbyes or tears. 

 I know you'll always live on in all of us and you have shaped so much of who I am, I will never be without you. I love you so much and I am so incredibly thankful to have had you as a support system and a parent when my own were struggling. I could never say thank you enough, but you wouldn't accept it anyway- you did what you wanted and told anyone else "this is what I want to do" and who could say no to you?! Haha just like your brother Tom, you did it "your way", but you didn't care much for Sinatra, so we won't qoute that song. 

I'll stop crying now, because I know you'd tell me to stop "worrying my head" and that you were so ready for this...but damn is it the hardest thing to do. I miss you, I love you, thank you for always being there for me❤ and enjoy your peace and quiet. I promise to cook chop meat for Dale every chance I get, bc I know, despite him being well cared for (and you, "not being a dog person") and not needing more food, you would say he's starving to death haha. I'll never order a diet coke with ice and I promise to live my life with peace and happiness like you wanted. You tol

Many fond memories of Mrs. Clay 52 years in the making.  We will miss you dearly.  Will miss our chats and visits we've enjoyed throughout the years!  Love you Mrs. Clay!!!

Sincerest sympathy to your family. My mother Isabelle Fitzgerald treasured her friendship that dated back so many years. May she rest in eternal peace. 

Such a great,  nice and funny lady!  She will be missed by so many.  I am glad that I got to see her for her 100th birthday party as it was so much fun to be with her and her family.  She really knew how to live life to the fullest!

I have known Mrs Clay since I was 5 years old, which is most of my life - - I have the fondest memories or her loving home in Little Neck and all my visits there,  which was many - One of them being when JKF was killed during Kitty's birthday party  - as 5 years old we didnt understand why all the moms were crying  - - She was THE most welcoming mom one could ask for - She always had a smile, a story and good advice ,, - - She was very loved and will be missed by all - My condolences and love to all her children and grandchildren - Safe passage Mrs Clay  to a better world -

My husband Jim and I were so very sad to hear of Aunt Agnes' passing. We were lucky to have her in our lives when dad married her sister Catherine in 1968. She was such a Grand Lady and a Matriarch.
May memories be a comfort to her family and all those who loved her. We keep her in our hearts. Earth's loss is Heaven's gain. Roni and Jim 

Will miss you Mommy but be thankful for all your love and wisdom the past 63 years!  The best mom that anyone could ask for.
