Agnes A. Szempruch

Szempruch- Agnes A. age 87 of East Elmhurst, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on January 17, 2021. She was born in Greenpoint, Brooklyn in 1933, the daughter of Polish immigrants Frank and Anna Brzozowski. It was there she met her beloved husband Ben, when they were introduced by their mothers. They exchanged letters while Ben was stationed in Korea with the Army and upon his return, they married and moved to Queens. Agnes was a committed Law Secretary for 20 years in addition to being a devoted wife and mother. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband in 2019. She is survived by her loving children Robert (Linda), John (Margaret), Christine (Patricia) and Jean (Michael). She was the cherished Babcia to 8 grandchildren: Stephanie (Tyler), Brittney, Tori, Wes (Kristen), Wendy (Kyle), Maddie (Tyler), Thomas and Ryan and 4 great grandchildren: Sam, Rory, Pax and Theo. Dear sister of Richard and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews. Loved by her devoted friends Maureen, Joanie and Chick. Agnes was a devout Roman Catholic and though she suffered lasting effects from a stroke in 2012, her warm smile, joy for life and indomitable spirit were an inspiration to her family, friends and all she met. There will be a Mass of Christian burial on Friday January 22, 2021 from Our Lady of Fatima RC Church 25-02 80th Street Jackson Heights, NY at 10:45am. Livestream at Ourladyoffatima-queens.org.
