Born in Greece, Alexandros carried the spirit, strength, and rich traditions of his homeland with him throughout his life. With courage and determination, he came to the United States in search of opportunity, working tirelessly to build a life rooted in love, pride, and unity for his family. Through sacrifice, resilience, and unwavering dedication, he created a home that will forever stand as his legacy.
Alexandros was a devoted and loving husband, a proud father, a cherished grandfather, a beloved brother, and a loyal friend. His family was his greatest joy and his proudest accomplishment, and he poured his heart into each and every one of them.
He was truly a jack of all trades, a man who seemed to know something about everything. His wisdom was endless, his curiosity unmatched, and he carried with him a wealth of knowledge that he generously shared with those around him. In the kitchen, he could effortlessly whip up the most delicious meals, bringing people together around the table — a place where laughter, storytelling, and his unforgettable one-liners filled the room with warmth.
Alexandros found peace and happiness in life’s simplest pleasures, especially the ocean, which held a special place in his heart. He loved to swim and would often disappear into the water for hours, connected to both nature and his cherished memories of Greece. His love and passion for his island, Kefalonia, remained constant throughout his life — a place that shaped him and lived within him always.
Above all, Alexandros was a man of incredible strength and resilience. He fought a battle that doctors deemed impossible, demonstrating courage and determination until the very end. His strength will forever inspire all who knew him.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Maria, who stood by his side through a lifetime of love and partnership; his cherished children, Polly and Mike Manikakis, Eleni and Carlo Piccirillo, and Alexia Nikolovienis; and his four adored grandchildren, Nicoletta, Stelios, Alexandra, and Eliana, who were the light of his life and brought him endless pride and joy.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the love he gave us, the lessons he taught us, and the legacy he leaves behind. His strength, humor, and deep devotion to family will live on through all who knew and loved him.
He will be greatly missed but will forever live in our hearts.
May his memory be eternal.
