

She was the devoted wife of John Mahoney, with whom she shared more than 60 years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on family, compassion, and enduring partnership. Annette was a loving mother to her children and is survived by her husband, John and daughter, Jo-Ann, and many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Jay Mahoney, and by her sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Anthony.
Annette dedicated her life to caring for those around her. She lovingly raised her two children and extended that same care to many animals throughout the years. Beginning in 1981, she became a pioneer in raising squirrels, a unique calling that reflected her love of animals and nurturing spirit. She also opened her heart and home to several stray cats, ensuring they were cared for and loved.
Known for her boisterous personality, gregarious nature, and infectious laugh, Annette brought warmth and energy wherever she went. She loved to cook for others and took great joy in entertaining, creating welcoming spaces filled with good food, conversation, and laughter. A devoted Catholic, Annette was guided by her faith, which shaped her life and strengthened her commitment to love, service, and generosity.
Annette will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her spirit of generosity, warmth, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, located at 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Kevin's RC Church, 45-21 194th St, Flushing, NY 11358, on December 22, 2025, at 10:45 am.
Interment will follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Ave, Flushing, NY 11365 at 12:15pm.
