Pepa, you were many things to hundreds of people. You have lived a full life and we are grateful for being a part of it.

Who would ever forget Christmas season along 80th Dr? Many weeks leading to the ‘ber months, you would be busy thinking of ways to make each Christmas grander and bolder than the previous ones. You were a child at heart. Your Toys for Tots programme sharing gifts to the less fortunate and closing the block to give away food and gifts was really all about sharing the joy you had to others. St. Nick incarnate, is that you? You have left a big hole in the most celebrated feast of the year. You have left big shoes to fill. Christmas in our family and in the community will never be the same. You had many loyal employees that you nurtured and treasured for a long time. We may not know all your employees personally, but their loyalty for over 20 years says a lot about the kind of leader that you were. You have built an empire not just of the tangibles but also of genuine relationships with people of different walks of life.

Amidst the big, the bold and the beautiful things we saw around you, what not a lot of people do not know was how simple your joys were. You could be the life of the party and you could be that person sitting in a corner, watching others enjoy themselves. With your favourite cigar on one hand, and a drink on the other, you would just quietly smile. You were a great host because you were naturally funny, charming, hospitable and warm. Such a great character; your generosity of heart knows no bounds.

It is hard to forget someone who gave you so much to remember. We bid you farewell, Pepa. Rest where love springs in the company of all the angels. Cheers to a life well lived. Cheers to a fine legacy you left behind. You will be sorely missed.

With Love,
Jemima
