Bora (Bo) K. Dundar, age 59, passed away on July 25, 2026. Bo was born on January 29, 1967 in Turkey and raised in Texas. Bo came to New York and met the love of his life, Kathy Lizzul. Bo built a life marked by devotion to family, pride in service, and the steady presence of the things he loved most.
A Navy veteran, Bo carried the dignity of service with him throughout his life. In high school, he embraced activity and teamwork—playing football, competing on the swim team and track team, and playing basketball—pursuits that reflected an energetic spirit and a willingness to give his best in every arena.
Bo was the beloved husband of Kathy. Loving son of Kemal and Alev. Cherished son of the late Ozengul and nephew of Ulker. Dear cousin of Gonca (Bill) and Cagan (Tanya). Fond brother in law of Joe (Susan). Devoted uncle of Andrew (Jeanine) and Eric (Rose) and great uncle of Dean and Cooper. Also, Bo is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Known to many as Bo, he found comfort and enjoyment in familiar favorites—old TV shows such as Gun Smoke, The Andy Griffith Show, Leave it to Beaver, South Park, Family Guy and the History Channel. Bo also had a fondness for Texas—cowboy hat, boots, and all—and a true passion for big trucks, especially the Ford F150 and Dodge Ram. Above all, he loved his pets, particularly his cat “El Bandito”.
Bo will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his enjoyment of a good meal, his love of the casinos and for being a true gentleman.
Once Bo told a friend, I don’t care where I go or what I do as long as I’m with Kathy. Bo was very loved and will be greatly missed.
