Carol A. Galanaugh

Carole Ann Galanaugh went to heaven on May 1st, 2020. She was the dear loving wife and companion of her husband, John for close to fifty years, having wed on July 5th, 1970. She is also survived by her beloved daughter, Danielle, son in law, Mark, granddaughter, Morghan, sister, Ann, as well as Ann’s husband, Patrick. Carole was also the beloved aunt to sixteen nieces and nephews.

At the beginning of her working life, Carol was employed at the executive offices of Eastern Airlines in Rockefeller Center, Manhattan, working at Eastern for over twenty years and taking advantage of their flying benefits by travelling to places most people don’t even get to dream about. Carol decided to return to the work force after Eastern Airlines went out of business part-time as a receptionist/secretary in a doctor’s office. While still at Dr. Graf’s, Carol heard of an opportunity to teach Au Pairs on Long Island once a month, a job she totally enjoyed.

All her life Carol was an artist, and she had a special talent when it came to color. Call it a talent, a gift or a sense, you could always appreciate Carol’s keen eye when it came to decorating! She could remember slight variations in color years after seeing them. It must have been that talent which led Carol to go into her own business, interior decorating. Indeed,

Carol spread her wings far and wide throughout her life, making friends wherever she went and learning and influencing along the way. She was much loved and is sorely missed. In heaven, I hope she has a puppy.

The family will be receiving visitors for the celebration of Carole's life on Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM at Fredrick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY, 11358. When visiting the family please be conscious to pay your respects, greet the family and to be mindful of other visitors that may be waiting outside because we are limiting the amount of guests in each chapel for the safety of everyone. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Parkinson's Foundation (see link far below) to support the cure for such a dreadful disease.
