Christopher O'Brien

With hearts of gratitude and deep sorrow, the family of Colville Christopher O’Brien announces his departure from this world on October 1, 2026. His departure was the culmination of a long, brave health battle, which he bore with grace, humility and unwavering strength.

Colville Christpher – affectionately known as Chris -- was born on January 6, 1958, to parents Colville O’Brien and Daphne O’Brien, and as a loyal native son of New York, he spent his entire life in its auspices. Chris’s early life was spent in Freeport, Long Island where he attended Freeport High School; he then matriculated to Brooklyn College. Chris had a life-long love of learning and will always be remembered as an exceptional conversationalist with an unforgettable and contagious laugh. To know Chris was to love him.

After meeting the love of his life, Krishna, Christopher and Krishna settled in Valley Stream, and the two maintained, grew and nurtured their dedication and commitment to family.

Christopher is predeceased by his mother Daphne Eileen O’Brien and his father Colville Leroy O’Brien. He is survived by his brother, Geoffrey Mark O’Brien; his sister Carol “Gem” Dyette; his niece Tara Dyette; his aunt Mary Kerr; and his first cousins Penny Premdas, Jennifer Kerr-Logan, Audrey Kerr, Rowena Silva-Beck, Jewell Hill and Brian Smith. He is mourned, missed, and forever treasured by his immediate chosen family, including his partner of 26-years, Krishna Jagdeo, and their family, Lynette Jagdeo, Aliyah Jagdeo, Jonette “Jojo” Jagdeo-Williams, and Amora Jagdeo. He joins in eternal rest Janelle Jagdeo-Williams.

Visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, US, on October 12, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at The Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 201 N Central Ave, Valley Stream, NY 11580, US, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Committal Service will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735, US, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 12:15pm
