Christos K. Margiotis passed away on December 12, 2013 at the William Bryan Dorn VA Hospital in Columbia, SC. Christos was born in the Xorio of Sella, State of Evrytania, Greece. He was one of 6 children of the late Konstantinos and Maria Margiotis. Christos came to New York in 1956 at age 8. He grew up mainly in Queens. Upon graduation from high school, he was drafted into the US Army and went to fight in the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969. He was promoted to Sergeant and received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in battle. When he returned home, he met his wife, Angeliki Kartsonis. They wed in 1972 and had 2 children Maria and Kosta. They moved to Florence, SC on December 7, 1989 where Christos operated the Palmetto Restaurant for 19 years. Christos was a very hard worker, dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife , Angeliki, of 43 years. His loving children, Maria ( Chris) Kavasilas and Kosta Margiotis .He was the cherished Pappou of Demetrios, Elizabeth and Elias.Dear brother of Joanne ( Kimon) Papadopoulos, Eleni (Peter) Kouzounas, Vasilios ( Virginia) Margiotis and Dennis ( Christine) Mariotis. Also survived by his loving aunt and uncle, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Reposing Monday December 16,2013 at Frederick Funeral Home 192-15 Northern Blvd., Flushing, NY 11358. Visiting hours are 2-5 & 7-9PM. Funeral Liturgy 9:00am Tuesday at St. Nicholas G.O. Church. Interment to follow at Flushing Cemetery.
