Grandpa, 
I’ve known about you for almost all my life since I was in middle school when I met Raymond. He always described you as the his caretaker and father figure who he looked up to. Without you, Raymond would not be who he is today and I have you to thank for that. We will try out best to fulfill our lives because we know how much you have sacrifice for him. Your memories will forever stay in our heart. We miss you.

Grandpa, I have a hard time accepting the fact that, God willing, I will live more years than I had with you but what you did is eternal. What you did many men wish they can do. I love you. I miss you.

Dear Grandpa,

It’s your grandson!  You know the one that’s named after you. I knew from day one that it was the highest honor and would brag about it until the day we meet again. 

Speaking of day one, my earliest memory of you involved you carrying me out of the wooden crib as I was clapping my cupped hands. You had that charming, warming smile I learned you will always have. It warms me till this day. 

What’s always amazed is although I kept growing and getting physically stronger while you older, physically weaker, you still managed to carry me and remain the pillar of the family. It amazes me how you continued to work until the age of 83. That mentality is engrained in me. 

Through my roughest, darkest and most challenging hardships in life. The consistency of perseverance is what made me see the light at the end of the tunnel. 

“Once a task begun, never leave it till it’s done.
Be the labor great or small, do it well or not at all.” 

Those are the words you use to recite to me all the time. 

I write this heartbroken and crying  at a wedding. That was already planned before your untimely demised. Yesterday, my friends announced that they were having a baby. This weekend is absolutely insane. Just knowing I can’t go home and check on you is devastating. Idk how I will go on but I will. 

Wishing you could see my wedding . Wishing you could see your great grandchildren like some of your sisters did but I know that you are watching above. Wishing you can see the house I will by. The room I will have reserved for you. You are Watching. I told you I’ll take care of everything. The family. Whatever you need. Whatever needs to be done. However, I know that everyone is strong. Stronger because of you. We will all live the life you made possible for us. What you did was nearly impossible. The odds you overcame, the adversity you faced. I hope you moved on feeling secured. Feeing accomplished.

To gramp. Although I have always said my “grandpa” or my “grandfather”, you have always felt like my father. You were ALWAYS home. And I ALWAYS knew where to find you. Never a single day that went by where you were never reserving a home for us to stay in. Never fronted on us. Told us how it is. Taught me how to be a REAL man. Which is taking care of your kids and family. Definition of a man. All of the countless nights we would spend being up just to be up. The way you wanted things done had to be either your way, or no way. And I had to learn that the hard way. The lessons you have taught me and what you have done for me were unimaginable, unforgettable and it is something that I will forever cherish and will pass on to my children and my peers. Telling you I will see you again is not enough closure for me. You spend so much time, and I’m talking about every given second, minute, hour, days with one person that when the day actually comes it feels like that person really left you. But I know in this case you would NEVER. A real thorough man. But I know you are setting us up preparing us for when our time is ready to be together again. Before you departed, just by your words and how serious your tone was, you showed me what it takes to be a man in this wild world. I will always represent you. I will always think of you. I will make sure the sacrifices you made for me to have a better life was not for nothing. You literally did everything you possibly could. Never ever EVER turned your back on us. A true man. We got it from here Gramp. I love you forever.

There is no way I can ever repay him for what he has done for me and my boys...nothing 💔

He never made me fall...EVER!

There really are no words I can  put together to form a sentence that would describe my feelings for Daddy, my Faja... Dad 🤍

I am the son he never had...his foot soldier, his right hand. He raised me hard. Tough. 

He was my biggest critic 🤍

This is the weakest I have been in my entire life. 

Daddy is now Resting in Peace and I will continue to make him proud. Now, it will not be easy moving around without him as we always did together but he taught me lessons and gave me the necessary tools.

PS- thank you for teaching me how to park my car.  When I first started driving to work I was so anxious. You were patient with me and so kind.  Im a pro now.  You would be proud :)

My memory of Uncle Earl was his kind and loving nature. A man of few words yes, but for my mom and dad he was very comical and dramatic. News of your passing has really shook us all especially daddy and Uncle Winston. Even though we had lost communication over the years our love for you and family still remained. We love you always and forever. Rest in peace Uncle Earl and may perpetual light shine down on you. To my dear cousins may God grant you His comforting peace that only He alone can give. Sending love and hugs from Uncle Roachie and family.

I am writing these words with tears in my eyes thinking of the memories with dad in my younger days. Dad was a man of few words and he shared some corny jokes most times but you can't help but to laugh, lol, i guess it was the way he says them. My father was a source of strength, love and guidance and a pillar for his family.  His caring nature knew no bounds and his dedication to his loved ones was unwavering.
His values and principles were the cornerstone of his life, shaping the person he was and inspiring those around him. One thing for sure, dad loved his job and definitely a workaholic!, and I admired him for that.
But perhaps one of his greatest attributes was his kindness and his heart was full of compassion.  He would go out of his way to lend a helping hand to those in need, but one thing for sure, he never stand for foolishness.
As we say our goodbyes, let us hold on to the memories shared and while we mourn this loss, we must celebrate his life and the mark he left on each one of us.
To my father, thank you for all that you were and for the immense love you bestowed upon us. Your spirit will forever live on in our hearts, guiding and inspiring us to be the best version of ourselves.  Rest in peace dad, knowing that your legacy will endure. I love you immensely.

Daddy was the kindest, most loving, most understanding father anyone could ask for. There are no words to express the profound loss and grief we are going through but I know he will be here guiding us as we move on to our next chapter of life without him. RIP Papa...I love you and miss you.  Until we meet again ❤🌹
