

Frank L. Calabrese, 67, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, in Gastonia, North Carolina, surrounded by family. His long and courageous battle with cancer was met with the same strength and resilience that defined his life.
Born on April 23, 1958, in New York City, Frank carried a strong sense of responsibility and guidance throughout his life, raising his three children as a single parent. Known for his wisdom and steady strength, Frank was a protector and guiding force for those around him.
Frank proudly served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, and was honorably discharged.
Frank is survived by his wife, Leonora Galletti of Larchmont, New York; his children, Frank G. Calabrese of Whitestone, New York, Rachael R. Calabrese of Whitestone, New York, and Eric A. Calabrese and his fiancé Ashley Rivera of Gastonia, North Carolina; and his grandchildren, Eugenio Calabrese, Ezio Pacheco, and Enelio Calabrese. He is also survived by his brother, Jimmy Calabrese and his wife Emily; aunts; nieces; and many cousins. Frank was predeceased by his mother, Maria Calabrese, and his father, Egino Calabrese.
A devoted sports fan, Frank cheered for the New York Yankees and New York Rangers. When not watching sports, he could often be found in the kitchen, sharing his culinary talents with loved ones. He will be especially remembered for the Feast of the Seven Fishes dinners he lovingly prepared each Christmas Eve. He was also a self-proclaimed pizza expert!
A visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, located at
192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, on July 20, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Followed by a mass to honor Frank’s life which will be held on July 21, 2025, at Saint Kevin RC Church, 45-21 194th Street in Flushing, New York. The funeral mass will begin at 9:45AM and conclude at 10:45 AM . The interment will immediately follow at Calverton National Cemetery in Wading River, NY.
Frank’s legacy of love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to have him in their lives.
