Georgia H. Ragonese, a beloved resident of Whitestone, New York, passed away on January 16, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on November 12, 1938, Georgia was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose presence will be deeply missed by her family and community.
Georgia is survived by her children, Catherine Rogers (Eric), Gregory Ragonese (Jo-Ellen Pryor) and Maria T. DiMartino (Steven). She was a devoted grandmother to Carina (Sebastian) Byrk, Alexa Rogers, Brianna (Richard) Amann, Nicholas DiMartino, Thomas DiMartino, Robert DiMartino, and Isabella Ragonese. Georgia was also blessed with great-grandchildren Theodore and Catarina Amann.
Throughout her life, Georgia was known for her love of cooking and her passion for bowling, which she enjoyed three times a week. She was an avid traveler, with a special fondness for visiting her parents' homeland in Greece. One of her most cherished memories was a European cruise in 2010, which she enjoyed with her family. Georgia also had a love for shopping and was actively involved in volunteering within her community and the schools.
Visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, located at 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, on January 20, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Liturgy will take place at St. Demetrios' Greek Orthodox Church, 84-35 152nd St, Jamaica, NY 11432, on January 21, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Flushing Cemetery, 163-06 46th Ave, Flushing, NY 11358, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
Georgia H. Ragonese will be remembered for her warmth, dedication, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.
