Dear Ashook, The pain you  suffered for the loss of  your son Gerry is one of the hardest to bear, especially because he was taken away at such a youthful age from his family too soon.         Father’s Day 2020 will certainly go down in history as a very sad day, especially for my dad. Gerry you have left memories here on Earth that will forever be embroidered within our hearts.

In our 20+ years, I have seen you do so much for so many and I and the world salutes you for the mark that you've left behind in all of our hearts... Gerry was one of a kind. He was like a brother to me. He always lifted me up when we were together and would always say I Love You. Whenever we would be listening to a song he would say, “Sarika, guess the singer of this song”. He was an awesome person and will be missed always because he was so special. 

"What's that?" he asked, pointing to something inside my desk. 
"I dunno know" I responded (turned out to be dried out glue).
This simple exchange on the first day of 4th grade started a friendship. I just never realized it would last a lifetime.
We went our separate ways during IS237 and John Bowne HS, but when I was diagnosed with cancer during my senior year, Gerry reached out and asked how I was and if I needed anything. That's who he was, even at a young age. Always there for his friends, no matter the situation. A credit to his parents for raising him with a gentle soul.
He reached out 15 years later, and it was as if we were back in the 4th grade. Two peas in a pod. It was as if we were never apart.
Talked about this amazing woman he married, Rachel. Then becoming a father to 2 amazing boys, Jaden and Gavin. He would love to tell me stories about them.
Gerry left us too soon. We will all miss our brother who was quick with a funny line, and no matter the turmoil he was suffering, to a fault he always put his friends before himself.
There will always be a part of me that will feel as if I failed him, that I wasn't a good enough of a friend that he truly deserved.

When you think of Gerry, think still of immortality and infinity, because to me, though he still had another chapter to his story to write, he is infinitely immortal. I will always love you, my brother.

I went to High School with Gerry and reconnected years ago when, surprising,  one morning we were both dropping off our children at Divine Wisdom for school .  It was as if no time had passed.  He was the same caring person he was in High School.  Always smiling and always offering to help whoever was in need.      He truly was an angel here on earth.

I only remember Gerry from growing up in the neighborhood. To me he was always nice and friendly. I am so sorry to hear about his passing. Thoughts and Prayers to the Family. May he Rest In Peace 

Gerry was one of the most amazing fathers I’ve ever watched raise sons. My mother lived next door to the Ramsarans for many years and  I was fortunate enough to watch Gerry  interact with Jaden  and Gavin throughout the years. It warmed my heart to see such a warm attentive dad.   Gerry helped  my mom on  so many occasions and I was so happy he was her neighbor. My mom would repeatedly say Rachel and Gerry are such amazing parents and as a result have raised two incredible sons. 
Although gone way too soon,Jaden and Gavin have Gerry’s imprint in their hearts and minds. They will carry his love and devotion with them forever.  I wish Rachel and the boys a lifetime of warm memories and in time, a lifetime of smiles when they  reflect on the incredible person their husband and Dad was.

We met Gerry after he met My cousin Rachel, he was perfect for her, kind thoughtful and great company.  Its so sad to think we won't see him again but he will always be in our hearts 💕 

I've known Gerry for over 35 years - since Arn and I went to high school together. I still remember playing sports, video games, goofing around - when life was so much simpler, so much easier.  When I heard about his passing, all I can say is that I went numb.  I am honored to have been a part of these last few days, to see the amount of love that has blossomed over the years, from his friends and his family.

The last conversation I had with Gerry, he told me how beautiful of a family I have.  All I can say, is that, truth be told - you are the one with a beautiful family.  You will live on in your kids, proudly and gracefully.

Rest well my friend.  Till we meet again someday.

I remember meeting you after years of hearing only wonderful things about you from Tyron Khan, your buddy and partner in crime. I knew I would meet you one day and hoped we would get along as much as you did with Tyron. I grew to appreciate your witty remarks and you made a fellow Leo laugh. I will miss you, I saw the joy you brought out in my husband and he adored you. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye but God will take care of you now. Rest in peace and you will never be forgotten.

I am still a loss for words, although we were cousins, you were more like an older brother. You always made us laugh, and graced us with the kindness of your heart,  heaven has gained an angel and I know your watching over us until we meet again, love ya Gerry. 

I had the privilege of speaking with Gerald on 6/18/20. I was assisting him in scheduling him for his Covid 19 test. During our brief phone call, he expressed his love and pride for family and was looking foward to the upcoming gatherings.  My condolences to the entire Ramsaran family.

It is with our deepest condolences that we mourn the sudden loss of our beloved colleague Gerald Ramsaran.  Gerry was an intelligent, motivating and inspiring member of the team.  He could always brighten the day with his quick wit, genuine smile and kind words of expression.  More importantly Gerry was devoted to his family, a loyal friend and true gentleman. Days later and I am still at a loss for words. I have known Ger since we worked together at Thom Mc Caan  just about 35 years of friendship. He was not only my friend. He was my BROTHER. He and I celebrated life events through the years. We may not have kept in touch regularly but we always texted one another during the holidays and our birthdays. Ger had a heart of gold. He was funny, crazy and a very special human being. God gained an angel and this world will never be the same without his smile (that smile made you smile even when you didn't want to---he would coax you to smile anyway). I love you Ger. God Bless Rachel, Jayden, Gavin, Arnie, Ashook and Camille. WE all have an angel watching over us.

It's always with deep sadness when I have to bid farewell  to someone I know. In Gerry's case, having known him from when he was a toddler and watched him grow up to be a fine young man,  husband and father, the feeling gets even more profound. I'll always remember him for that signature smile of his, his kind heart, his sense of humor, and the respect he showed to everyone.  On a personal note, he was a pillar of support to us during some trying times, including when we lost our daughter-in-law five years ago. He has been called home in the prime of his life and will be dearly missed. Our loss is heaven's gain. May Almighty God bring comfort to his extended family, including Rachael and the kids, his parents, Ashook and Camille, and brother Arnie. May Gerry rest in Heavenly peace.

I didn't lose a cousin instead a brother. Our family was fortunate enough to come together often and our cousins benefitted by creating sibling like bonds with one another. I am forever grateful for that. While your loss is immeasurable that cannot be put into words, I take comfort in knowing that you will forever walk beside us. We've all gained an angel. I know you will watch over your boys, family and friends. Until we meet again. I love you, Ger.

We were all shocked to hear the news of the passing of Gerry, I still remember playing video games with him and Arnie at their house in Flushing when we were just kids. I knew him for over 40 years and can’t believe he is now gone from our lives. I loved him like a brother. He was the most compassionate, loving man you will ever meet. He was full of laughter, smart, a great athlete and most importantly a great father to his boys. I was so proud to see how much he loved them and how much they loved him.
