Gertrude Gazsy, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away, surrounded by the love of her family on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. She will be remembered for her kind heart, love for her family and friends, ability to find the right words in any situation, and for always being up to trying anything new even when she felt she would fail.
Gertrude, better known as Trudy, Mom, Sis, Grandma, Butter, Babcia or Matka will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She was the beloved wife of William Gazsy, loving mother of William and wife, Jessica, Robert (who passed away in 2019), Nicole Ryan and husband, Michael, Thomas, and wife, Mitsue and Jessica Petros and husband, Timothy, and cherished grandmother of Haley, Angelo, Katherine, Kayla, Michael, Leanne, Madeline, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Evan, Emma, Soraya, Benjamin and Sean. She is survived by her brother Frank and sister Barbara and will also be missed by Tammy Deceglie and husband, Paul and their children.
Gertrude will be joined in peace with her loved ones that passed before her, including her cherished son, Robert.
Memorial Visitation will be held at Quinn Fogarty Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Friday, October 23, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
A Funeral Mass will take place at Mary Nativity Church, 46-02 Parsons Blvd, Flushing, NY 11355, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 10:45 am to 11:30 am.
