James F. McCann

James was the beloved husband of Laura Brasen-McCann. He was a loving bonus father to Christopher Dankel, Laura (Richard) Solano, and Raymond (Debi) Dankel, and a cherished Pop Pop to Sebastian, Gabriel, Grace, Alexander, and Nathaniel—grandchildren he truly adored. He is also dearly remembered as the brother of Barbara Brennan.

Those closest to Jimbo knew the steady joy he found in life’s simple meaningful pleasures: time with family, vacations made special by togetherness, and familiar walks around the neighborhood. His love of music—especially the Beatles & Beach Boys—was a constant thread, as was his fondness for classic television, including The Three Stooges and The Honeymooners. A devoted Mets and Jets fan, he followed his teams with loyal enthusiasm that never wavered.

Visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, on June 22, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and again from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
