James P. Murphy

We are sad to announce the passing of James P ("Jim") Murphy of Bayside, NY. Jim died on July 23, 2023 at the age of 72. Jim passed away surrounded by his family in his home. Together, our family had the opportunity to say goodbye and to remember Jim's fondness for his New York teams (The Yankees, The Giants, and especially The Rangers), weekends on ice or roller skates, vacations on cruises and at the beach, while listening to some of his favorite music.

Services will be held at Frederick Funeral Home (192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing NY 11358) on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Ryan Licht Sang Bipolar Foundation, which is an organization Jim felt strongly about and is important to this family. https://www.ryanlichtsangbipolarfoundation.org/

He is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline ("Jackie"), her sons and her grandchildren; his ever-supportive sister, Barbara; his children, Adrienne, Jaime Rizzo (Mike), Brad, Michael, Brian, Megan Bowen (Pat); and by his grandchildren, Belinda, Cara, Maggie, Cynthia, Lily, and Colin.

The funeral will be a private ceremony with only immediate family members present.
