

Janet lived with her husband, Edward, in Flushing for over 60 years. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to six children. Janet was most happy when she was surrounded by her loving children, grandchildren, and family.
Janet was born in Jackson Heights, NY to Joseph & Ann Burbige on May 24, 1939. She spent most of her younger years living in Corona, NY where she met and married her husband. Janet played an active role in her children’s lives and when the children were grown began working for Ozanam Hall as a Switchboard Operator and then Medical Records Assistant. She was a lifelong member of St. Kevin Church and got so much joy from sharing with the children and parishioners her love and adoration of God and her deep catholic faith.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Ann Burbige, her brother, John Burbige, her parents-in-law, Victor & Irma DeNicola, her sisters and brother-in-law, Rosemary & John Relevant, and Pierina DeNicola, her son-in-law, Scott Howie and her grandparents from the Burbige and Higgins families.
Janet is survived by her spouse of 65 years, Edward DeNicola; her children, Annmarie Larkin (Paul), Peter (Patricia), Edward (Noreen), Victoria Howie, Matthew and Allison Argyropoulos (Brian); her grandchildren, Paul, Peter, Eileen, Elizabeth, Edward, Christopher (Haley), Matthew, Megan, Abigail and Jackson; her great granddaughter, Morgan; her sisters and brother in-law, Wanda & Victor DeNicola and Lillian Burbige and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 3-7pm at Quinn-Fogarty/ Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:45 am on Friday, October 20, 2023 at St. Kevin Church, 45-21 194th Street, Flushing, NY. For the family and friends unable to attend, the funeral mass will be livestreamed. Go to Stkevinflushing.org and a link “Janet DeNicola” will appear two minutes prior to the start of the mass. Interment to follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Avenue, Flushing, NY.
