

John A. DiCamillo, 106, died September 4, 2026. Born February 28, 1920, John lived a long life marked by steadfast devotion to family, faithful service to country, and a quiet, dependable presence in the lives of all who knew him.
A proud WWII Veteran of the Army Air Force, John carried his service with enduring dignity and gratitude, reflecting a generation defined by duty and perseverance.
John was the beloved husband of the late Margaret DiCamillo. He was a loving father of John (Lauren) DiCamillo and Susan (Louie) D'Arrigo, and a cherished grandfather of Margherita (Dustin) Warner, John (Sara) DiCamillo, Vincent D'Arrigo, Matthew (Rosie) DiCamillo, Katie (Chris) Toegemann, and Thomas DiCamillo. He was the adored great grandfather of Odin, Wyatt, Murphy, Isabella, Avery, Matthew, Valentina, Stanley, and Holly.
John was known for always helping others—especially friends and neighbors—and for being the kind of person who, whenever needed, would simply show up. Resourceful and capable, he could turn his hand to nearly anything, with a practical skill set that ranged from mechanical work to plumbing and electrical repairs. He was also a devoted Mets fan who found simple joys in fishing, lottery tickets, and trips to the casino.
Visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Kevin RC Church 45-21 194th Street, Flushing, NY 11358, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 9:45 am.
Interment to follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Ave, Flushing, New York 11365.
