John Thanasules, beloved husband, father and Papou passed away at the age of 93, leaving behind a family whose lives were shaped by his love, strength and unwavering devotion. Born in Greece, he came to the states at 13 years old, served in the army and was the epitome of the American dream. He and his cousin ran one of the biggest florists in Queens. An investor and entrepreneur, John was the heart and foundation of his family. His traditions, values, laughter, resilience and unconditional love will continue to live on through generations. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all those whose lives he enriched, including his family - his beloved wife Koula (Katy), devoted sons James and Thomas, his beautiful daughter-in-law Elizabeth and his adoring grandsons, John and Adam; as well as his nephews, nieces and friends. May his memory be eternal.
The family will be receiving visitors at Frederick Funeral Home at 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm.
A Liturgy Service will take place at St. Demetrios G.O Church at 84-35 152nd St, Jamaica, NY 11432 at 9:30am.
A Committal will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery located at 127-15 Kew Gardens Rd, Kew Gardens, NY 11415 at 11:00am.
