Jose Antonio Muñoz, MD, passed on March 16, 2026, at the age of 95. Jose was a resident of Malba, New York. Born January 15, 1931, Jose was a Healer, a Husband, a Father, a Grandfather, and a Storyteller.

Dr. Jose Antonio Muñoz, a beloved doctor in Jackson Heights for more than 50 years, passed away peacefully, reuniting with his cherished wife, Dr. Antonia Muñoz, who passed away three years ago.

Born in La Vega, Dominican Republic, "El Doctor" was a man of both science and compassion.

While a medical professional who served his patients and healed countless lives, his greatest pride was his family.

He was a devoted husband, a guiding light to his sons, Carlos and Jose, a proud “Abo” to Camille and Chloé, and a beloved "Tio" to Eddie and Elliot.

Whether you were a lifelong friend or a family member, Jose always knew exactly how to make you laugh. His wit and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his siblings—Elíana (Tia Lillían), Elíseo Antonio (Tio Cheo), and Juana Celia (Tia Pica) —his sons and granddaughters, and a legacy of healing that spans generations.

Visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. No visiting hours on Friday.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity RC Church, 14-51 143rd St, New York, NY 11357, US, on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 9:45 am.
