

Katherine Theodosis, age 90, of Flushing, NY, passed away on Monday, January 25th, 2021. Katherine was born in the village of Parori in Sparta, Greece in 1930 to Reverend George and Presvitera Helen Apostolakos. Katherine was the third eldest of seven children. Growing up in Parori, Katherine was actively involved in her father’s parish, often serving as cantor until late into her teenage years. She later sang in her church choir. Katherine’s love for the church and her Greek heritage guided her throughout her life.
Katherine loved and cherished her family above all else. To her daughters, she was a hardworking figure of compassion, love, and perseverance. Life’s road may not have always been smooth but Katherine navigated it with grace and strength. To her grandchildren, Katherine was a playful, loving, and devoted Yiayia who always doted on them. Katherine passed her selflessness and strength onto her daughters reminding them always that family came first. She will forever be treasured and missed and will forever remain in our hearts.
Katherine is survived by her five loving daughters, Penny Chauca (Jimmy), Georgia Barbetta (Louie), Athina Theodosis, Helen Michael (Nick), and Anastasia Gallagher (James); her sisters Gari Demeson, Presvitera Christine Govitz, and Pauline Nomikos. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret Semetis and her brothers Reverend Paul Aposolakos and John Apostol. She is the cherished grandmother of Maria, Jaqueline, Christian, Alexandra, Stephen, Nicholas, Katherine, and James and the adored great-grandmother of Sean, Julian, and Sabrina.
