Katina Gounaris

Katina was born on the Island of Andros Greece, the daughter of Franseska and Demetrios Vastardis. She came to the United States as the wife of Constantinos Gounaris in 1951 where together they raised their three sons: Demetrios, Michael and Andreas. She had a beautiful soul and boundless love for all.

She is survived by her three sons, daughter- in- law Anastasia, wife of Demetrios, and her grandchildren Constantine and Alexandra.

A visitation for Katina will be held on Monday October 12 at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Blvd Flushing, New York from 3:00 – 5:00 and 7:00 – 9:00.

Funeral Services take place at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, 11-05 150th Street Whitestone, New York on Tuesday October 13, 9:30 A.M.

A graveside service will follow at Cypress Hills Cemetery, 833 Jamaica ave Brooklyn, New york.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Ronald McDonald House Greek Division (www.rmh-newyork.org/give/greek-division ) or American Friends of the Blind in Greece ( www.friendsoftheblind.org ) .
