Kevin Christopher Brady

Kevin was the beloved son of Brian and Pat Brady, and the loving brother of Matthew (Annie) Brady. He was also a cherished grandson, godson, nephew, cousin, and friend who was held close not only by family, but by the many lives he touched through simple presence, steady kindness, and an easy, well-timed sense of humor.

Kevin was a true New Yorker in every sense. He was raised on Long Island, resided in Brooklyn and Queens, and made frequent trips to Albany, always with the mindset of improving the environment around him.

He took pride in serving his community, particularly taking interest in supporting LGBTQ+ rights, fair and equal housing, and working families.

A true people person, Kevin met the world with a gentle openness, the kind that made others feel seen and welcome. He was the guest speaker at Survivor Day on June 11, 2025 at Mt Sinai, where he empowered himself and encouraged others dealing with cancer to keep pushing forward and not give up hope.

Kevin once shared that his main goal in life was to open people’s minds to change. He had a rare way of drawing out the good in others, encouraging understanding over reaction, and inviting different thoughts and beliefs with respect. He approached each task with passion and a hard-earned knowledge that grew through effort, revealing, again and again, the strength of someone who kept showing up and kept building forward.

Throughout the progression of the illness, Kevin carried himself with remarkable courage. He was never bitter during his experience with cancer; he consistently advocated for himself and engaged with everyone involved in his care with realism and appreciation.

To the end, he maintained his dignity, determination and focus on his end of life care. He was always thinking of his family and those around him.

Visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, on Wednesday June 17, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 10:45 AM at Holy Trinity RC Church, 14-51 143rd Street, Malba, NY 11357.

Kevin’s life was full of warmth, humor, and quiet strength. He will be always be remembered.
