Born in Greece, Kosta carried his love for his homeland with him throughout his entire life. He came to America with very little but with tremendous determination, work ethic, and pride. Before arriving in the United States, he spent time working in Germany, always searching for opportunity and a better future. In America, he built a life through hard work, talent, and sacrifice. He became a successful hairstylist with a salon in Manhattan while also playing the Greek clarinet at night to support his family. He worked tirelessly for decades to provide a strong and stable life for the people he loved most.
Kosta was the devoted husband of Stella and a loving father to his two children, Maria and George. Family was the center of his life, and everything he did came from a deep love for his family and a desire to give them opportunities he never had himself. He was proud of the life he built for his family through years of sacrifice and perseverance.
Kosta was deeply connected to his Greek heritage and traditions. Nearly every summer, he brought his family back to Greece, where they spent cherished time with relatives and lifelong friends in Athens, Kalamata, and beyond. Those trips became some of the happiest memories of his and his children’s lives. Greece was where Kosta seemed most at peace — surrounded by family, music, laughter, and the culture he loved so deeply. Through him, his children learned the Greek language, traditions, and the importance of staying connected to family and heritage.
Over the past year, Kosta fought lymphoma with remarkable courage and strength. Despite appointments, treatments, chemotherapy, radiation, and difficult days, he rarely complained and faced every challenge with determination. He was supported lovingly by his wife Stella, his children Maria and George, and so many dear family friends. Even during his illness, Kosta remained strong.
Kosta will be remembered for his strength, work ethic, loyalty, sense of humor, love of music, and deep devotion to his family. To his children, he was simply “Baba,” and the love he shared with them will remain one of the greatest gifts of their lives.
His family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support they have received during this difficult time. While their hearts are broken, they take comfort in knowing that Kosta’s suffering has ended and that his memory will continue to live on through the family, traditions, values, and love he worked so hard to build. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
