Leondios E. Chihlas

He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Calliope, his beloved daughters Debbie and her husband Anthony Roccia, Maria and her husband Petros A. Mamais, and his loving son Steve and his wife Deena Chihlas. He was a cherished grandfather to six and a proud grandfather to two.

Leondios deeply loved his family and his home. He held his homeland of Chios, Greece close to his heart, yet was immensely proud to be an American, grateful for all the opportunities and accomplishments life in this country afforded him.

He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—meeting friends to socialize, spending time in Greenport, and taking great pride in caring for his grounds, often seen happily riding his mower. After a long day, Leondios found comfort relaxing on his favorite couch, watching Jeopardy and his Greek news.

Leondios will be remembered for his warmth, his devotion to family, and his pride in both his Greek heritage and American life. His legacy of love, hard work, and gratitude will live on through all who knew him.
