Linda was one of my very first friends on 125th Street.  We grew up together and were inseparable for many years.  I loved her like a sister - we were that close!  Unfortunately we lost touch for many years as we grew older and our lives went in different directions, but recently we were in touch again and were planning on getting together after she was well.  I am still in shock and to this day cannot believe she is gone.  She was one of a kind.  I don't think I know of anyone who had a heart like Linda's.  She truly was the sweetest, kindest person that I had the pleasure of knowing - and she loved to laugh and when you are kids growing up together, you laugh... a lot! I will miss you terribly Linda, but I know we will see each other again in heaven one day as I know that is where you are because that's where all the beautiful angels go!  Love you my friend!

My family and I are thinking about all of you as you put your beloved wife and mother to rest.  Linda has been in our prayers from the moment we found out she was in a battle.  We prayed hard for her recovery, but God had other plans for her.  Now she is resting in the arms of our Savior for all eternity, free from pain, from sadness and from fear.  However, for her loved ones left behind, it is a different story.  I pray that God brings peace and comfort to your hearts as you try to make sense of it all and learn navigate life without her.  Sean, I can not even fathom the pain you are feeling right now, yet my heart cries for you.  Sean and Katie, I know what it feels like to lose your mom.  I miss mine everyday.  My heart cries for you, too.  No matter how old you get, you always need your mother.  Michael and Justyna, mother in laws are our second moms and the loss of any mom is painful.  My heart cries for you two, as well.  To little precious, Raphael, you will always have a special angel looking down on you, never missing a special moment in your life.  You all have an angel now, one who loves and cherishes you no matter where she is.  I will continue to pray for the McPhillips and Orlando families as you all grieve this devastating loss.  I have known Linda since I was a tot, as my sister's wonderful friend and as a neighbor.  What I will remember most about her is her soft-spoken voice and her laugh.  In all the years I have known her, I have never heard her raise her voice.  She was such a lovely person.  She will be greatly missed.

Dan & I first became friends with Linda and Sean during the years that our sons were classmates at St Fidelis. Between the class trips, being involved with all the fundraisers, &  church activities as well the boys playing sports together, we became pretty close. And then when they had Katie and they asked me to babysit, I was so honored to take care of the precious baby for a time. 
I think one of my fondest memories  of Linda was when she and I were co-leaders for our sons’ Cub Scout troop. Linda was quite far along with Katie, and she gave the other den leaders a run for their money as we set up ( on our own I might add) camp, pitching our tents and doing what needed to be done, including hiking with the troop. I’ll never forget the fun times every Friday night with our wonderful group of boys. 
Dan and I, as well as my 3  children are heartbroken by Linda’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sean, Sean, Katie and their families as well as with the entire McPhilips & Orlando families. I know that Linda is watching down over each one of them and although not in the way you wish, will be with you always. May God bless Linda and the entire family.

For six years, Linda was not just a great co-worker, but our friend.  She and I always talked about our kids and specially our daughters since they are of similar age and the things they would go through in life.   And of course food.  We  would exchanged recipes here and there since for a little while she was trying a plant-based diet.  On Mondays, she would be eager to tell me about the new things she would prepared and how her husband and daughter would complain about not having “good protein” with their pasta sauce.  Her Italian meals were something she always cherished along with her family time.  I’m so glad her last vacation was in Italy with her family.   I send my deepest condolences.  She loved you all so very much and it showed.   
I will miss her dearly.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Linda’s passing.  I first met Linda at St Fidelis as young moms bringing our children to school. I remember the day she thought she was pregnant —-   We were out at one of our “Moms Night Out” dinners where she felt faint and we all teased her about the possibility of being pregnant. She said from your mouths to God’s ears and sure enough she was pregnant. She was so excited.   She was the most easy going easy to talk to—always with a smile.   At our kids little league playoff game we were heading to PA to a house we were renting and asked them to join us.   We had such a good time of course till little Sean decided to go for a walk and got lost (before cell phones). He did hitch a ride and knew enough to get back. We kept meeting up in town and recently at a wedding The few times we did meet up it was like no time had passed.  We exchanged numbers and agreed to get together   Unfortunately time has a way of slipping by and life gets in the way. May she rest in peace. Linda,  i remember the first day i met you over 5 years ago at the whitestone office.  You were so welcoming and kind.  I will never forget the holidays and your “dominick the donkey” ringtone. My heart was broken when I heard about Mary Linda‘s passing. She is my second cousin and we have so many memories from the early years of our lives. So many beautiful family events and every New Year’s Day. Mary Linda was a lot of fun and she endured asthma as a child with such a positive attitude. So many times she was frightened from the attacks but she  always persevered. I loved my cousin Mary Linda, and my heart and prayers go out to her husband and children and beautiful grandson. I look at this picture and I can still hear your voice telling  me not to drink too much or stay out too late because we had work the next day. I can still hear your laughter as you told me how you’d peek out the window just to make sure my car was in the driveway—just to know I got home safe.,you did it because you truly cared. You always made sure I was okay, like a second mom looking out for her own. I keep finding myself peeking across the street, half expecting to see you there, peeking over to check on me 😔

I am heartbroken over the loss of Linda. She wasn’t just my neighbor across the street or my coworker—she was truly like a second mother to me. Her warmth, her kindness, and her gentle spirit made such a lasting impact on my life, both personally and professionally.
Some of my favorite memories are the car rides we shared—those moments were filled with endless laughter, heartfelt stories, and the kind of conversation that only happens between people who truly care about one another. I can still hear us laughing as I playfully corrected her driving, and she’d just smirk and say, “Alright, alright!”—never offended, always full of joy.
Linda had the kindest heart. She was the kind of person who made everyone feel seen and loved. At work, she was one of the best coworkers anyone could ask for—dependable, thoughtful, always ready to help with a smile. But more than anything, she was simply a beautiful soul.
She will be missed deeply. Her absence leaves a hole that won’t be easily filled. Please know I’m keeping you all in my heart during this incredibly difficult time. If there is anything I can do, I am just across the street—just like Linda always was for me.

On one hand searching for the hidden meaning of her Being and on the other hand, allowing herself to be a pillar of strength for others to lean on, which I did. Many times, we would discuss, the Oneness of it all to satisfy her thirst for knowledge, while I was in need of taking from her strength to comfort my misfortune. As I bet, others have. I first met my cousin Linda in 1970. 
I was 5 years old and had just arrived in America.
We lived with her family for a while.
I was about to enter 1st grade in only a few months and didn't know any English. 
She took the time to teach and practice English with me throughout the 
summer of 1970. She had this record player and a new 45 single. It was Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five’s “ABC”, which had just come out and she played it for me all summer long. “Á, B, C, its easy as one, two, three, baby, you and me…..”
I'll will never forget that and can still vividly picture her as that vibrant 13-year-old teenager. 
As the years rolled by, of course all our lives got busier, but we were always able to share in the good times, as well as some of the sad times. 
And it was only just last summer when we were all together canning tomatoes, and even though she was hurting, she still was there in her unselfish, unassuming, and helpful way. 
Just like she was for me wayback in the summer of 1970.
I know there is a special place in heaven for her.
And I’m certain, if we all were able to spend the rest of our time here below, striving to be more like her, and join her in that special place, this world would be a much better place.

less! When Katie and I got married, and moved into our new home, you
helped us with everything! You helped us pay for the wedding! And you got
us SO MANY THINGS to help us start our new life together. You helped us
so much and you didn’t have to! But you did! Because that is the incredibly
beautiful person that you are! You give! And you give! And you give!
But you’re also so fun! And cheerful! And bright! You light the room
with your smile! And you’re laughter could melt the coldest heart. I was so
glad to share our honeymoon with you and Sean! You made it more fun by
a hundred fold! You put so much energy into that trip, and enjoyed every
moment of it, that I realized you lived more in a day than most live in a year!
You were doing so much, Katie and I couldn’t even keep up! It was always
like that with you. It was always fun.
I wanted to thank you for giving the world your beautiful daughter, my
wife, Katie. I swear to you that I will always love, and cherish, and support
her. And I hope you can find peace in knowing that she will always be well
taken care of. Always.

What can I say other than the fact that she was my best friend since 2nd grade when we did our school play “How much is that doggie in the window” together.  We have been through so much together and it’s just not fair that this happened at this time in her
Life, especially her becoming a grandma for the first time. I was so impressed how she taught herself to crochet blankets and  other items for the baby while she was in the hospital.   I will miss her till the end of my time and hopefully we will be together in the afterlife. She was one of the most beautiful kind and patient person l have ever met.  My prayers go out to Sean, Sean Kevin ( my Godchild) Justina, Katie, Michael and Raphael. Just know that she is in Gods hands and at rest.

I first met my darling wife Linda on May 22, 1983 at an Irish function, and after what could only be described as a whirlwind romance, we got married on September 2nd 1983. We always got a chuckle out of that. Along the way we were so blessed to have had 2 wonderful children, Sean Kevin and Katelin who never gave us a moment’s anguish, only laughs and great times that I know both of us never forgot. I honestly can’t believe it’s been 42 years since we first danced in “The Bliss” , how appropriate was that, as it only seems like yesterday when our eyes first met. I’ve always said I was the luckiest man that ever lived when I found Linda. She was my wife ,my soulmate, my best friend. She was soft and loving, caring and affectionate, kind and considerate and as a lot of people said about her, she was far too nice. But that was my Linda who never said a bad word about anyone, always saw the good in people. Linda will live forever in my heart and I know we will meet up again some sunny day to continue our unbreakable bondship and love we shared.  Bye for now Linda my beautiful, amazing wife and incredible mom, I’m going to miss you terribly as are the kids and indeed all who had the pleasure of knowing you.

You always said “you’re gonna miss me when I’m gone”. There are no words to describe this pain. This heartbreak is overwhelming. Not only from your passing, but from this whole year. I missed our Zumba days, and Italian dinner Sundays. Do you remember when we would talk about who I would marry and me having children? We would laugh. We would cry. We would dance and sing together.  I would call you with every little thing and I knew you would answer, no matter what you were doing. Because that’s who you were. You were my best friend. You were truly the kindest, funniest, and  most lovely person. You were so beautiful and I wish I would’ve told you that more.
