The Seamstress’ Prayer
Lord, as I view the pattern of my life, help me select material that is strong enough to resist the stain of sin, withstand the scrapes of life, and repel the harsh elements that come my way.
Show me where to make the right cuts so I can eliminate everything that hinders my walk with You.
As the pieces come together, help me sow seems that are straight, so that nothing tears apart or unravels: and when it does, show me where and how to patch with just the right touch.
I realize that needles will prick my fingers from time to time. May Your Spirit act as a thimble of protection. May Your love serve as a guiding light. May Your grace over look my imperfections.
Give me creativity to see what I can become. Grant me courage to add my own unique touch without taking away Your divine design.
And when my garment is faded and worn, neatly fold it in place, finally remember the purpose it served, and hide it in the closet of Your presence forever.
