Lydia Mazzone, 65, of Flushing, New York, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, June 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. True to her spirit, she took her final cues from one of her favorite Beatles songs — Here Comes the Sun — which we played for her the night before she passed.
Lydia may have been small in stature, but she radiated warmth, love, and positive energy. The family was at the center of everything she did. She lived her life with grace, kindness, acceptance, and quiet strength.
She had a love for fashion, good restaurants, and spending peaceful days at the family’s country home — especially enjoying long afternoons on the porch with a book or taking a dip in the same bay where she swam as a child.
Lydia was a devoted daughter to Mirjana and the late Robert Visich, and a cherished sister to Lorraine, Robert, and Mirjana, and sister-in-law to Vladimiro and Louis. Her bond with each of them was rooted in unwavering loyalty, humor, and love.
Though widowed early in her marriage, Lydia found happiness in her memories of her husband, Chris, and in the deep connections she shared with her mom, sisters and brother, brother in laws, and especially her niece and nephews — Olivia, Francesco, and Joseph — whom she helped raise with endless love and pride.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her resilience, her deep love for family, and the quiet, steady strength that carried her — and all of us — through life’s joys and challenges.
