I offer my deepest condolences to the family and love ones. I have been Ms. Mary’s Letter carrier for 13 years and since the first day I met her she’s been nothing but a genuine, sweet, caring and loving person. Not a day went by without her offering me a cold drink in the summer or a hot one in the winter. I feel blessed to have met such a beautiful soul. May you forever Rest In Peace. What fun to talk, mostly listen, to Mary. I would see her watering her garden and know I might get some fresh basil soon. She shared Easter pies with us, extra eggplant dishes, with the vegetable sliced so thin it was like paper, and all delicious. She gave of herself and never stinted. I would enjoy the stories she told of her big family, mine being a very small one, and envy her experiences. I will truly miss her but I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to know her for so many years.   Risa Stabin, neighbor

I have to start off by saying that Mary was so much more than a friend to our family.  She was such a special part of my daughters childhood that it would be hard to summarize in just a few words. From Potato Chips to Crochet Pillows and blankets, Mary was always there. Mary was Julius' tea partner and their talks meant the world to him.  There was genuine affection between them that can only be achieved by mutual respect and admiration. As for me, no one has fillet my chicken cutlets like her.  And I still have not tasted Potato Salad as good as hers.  I loved our talks about the Yankees. She was supportive and always told me I was doing a good job as a mom.  We will miss her.  The world was a better place because she was in it.  And her family was lucky to have had her.



I miss seeing Mary around the neighborhood, pushing or pulling a shopping cart, stopping to chat with the many people she knew.  Even in her 80s, she still went up and down the basement stairs to do the laundry, and we'd shout over the noise of the dryers and washing machines.  She was a part of Parkway Village to me, and it is diminished in her absence.

My sincere condolences to Mary's family. 
Mary was one of  the finest people I have met.  
I remember meeting her during my afternoon walk. We talked and talked. She always had something positive to say.  Her phone wouldn't stop ringing. She said: "my sister  keeps on calling and asking where are you?". You were supposed to be back from Key Food".  With a smile she added: "I didn't get there yet". Mary would stop to say hello to every neighbor she saw.  I am sure she is doing the same in heaven.  Neide Barabas


 

Mary, may you SIP!!! It was wonderful to have met you, the first time I met you, you had asked me where you could find a Yankee face mask, and I had got you one and dropped it into your mailbox. I added the mask in the Photo so it'll always be with you!

Parkway is not going to be the same without u marry,was waiting on my blanket u was supposed to make me,but I guess u are a heaven making it for me,just hold it till I get there,can’t believe you are gone,but I know u are in a better place,u don’t have to suffer anymore my love I promise u I will love after ya sister and brother just to make sure they are on the level u would want them to be your favorite security gaurd adisa 

She was a great neighbor ,funny thoughtful always trying to feed me even after I ate. Her cooking was great but the best part she always put her heart into everything she cooked and in to our many talks . My self your family and the village will have you in our hearts and mind. R.I.P. Mary 🙏

I will miss seeing Mary outside my kitchen window on the warm spring and summer days. While I cooked dinner for my family and she watered the gardens in our courtyard.  Placing my food on simmer to share a conversation as the sun went down. 
Mary had known my daughter from birth, watch her when I was in a pinch, they had their special bond. Grateful for her words of wisdom and her friendship.

When I moved to Parkway Village, Mary was the first friend I made. She welcomed me to the neighborhood. She asked me if I liked cookies. The very next day she brought me home-made cookies. In fact, Mary often brought me small gifts to let me know she was thinking about me. What a wonderful gift, to have a friend who was thinking of me, even when not standing in front of me. She would visit and talk and make me laugh. At times when I was upset, she would put a smile on my face and let me know I have a friend. When I was young my mom always told me to recognize and appreciate the kindness of others. It was so easy to recognize and appreciate the kindness of Mary. When thinking about what was so special about Mary to me, it was hard for me to come up with words. Her niece said it best, "Mary always accepted her friends and never judged them." That was perfect. Most of my life people have judged me. NOT MARY. She always accepted me and made me feel special, She is in the hands of God now, but I hope she knew the wonderful difference she made in this world. The difference she made in my life. I
 will miss my friend very much.

Aunt Mary's gentle and generous personality helped us appreciate the true value of family; she always added a positive spin on any situation that looked less than, and my sons, Hunter & Logan, adored her visits and our trips to I-HOP to celebrate their birthday! 

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved Aunt Mary she will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Aunt Mary I will miss you tremendously
