Michael Murphy

April 8, 1948 – June 16, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Murphy, who passed away on June 16, 2026, at the age of 78.

Born on April 8, 1948, Michael was proud of his Irish heritage and spent his life embracing the values that mattered most to him: faith, family, friendship, and community. A devoted husband and loving father, he found his greatest joy in the company of those he loved.

Michael was known for his warm personality, quick wit, and ability to make friends wherever he went. He enjoyed gathering with family and friends, sharing stories over a drink at his favorite local bar, and celebrating the traditions and culture of his Irish roots. His presence brought laughter, comfort, and companionship to countless people throughout his life.

A proud Catholic, Michael’s faith was an important part of who he was and guided him through life’s joys and challenges. He lived with a deep appreciation for family, friendship, and the simple pleasures that make life meaningful.

Michael leaves behind his beloved family and many dear friends who will cherish the memories they shared with him. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit, humor, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

May he rest in the peace of God’s eternal embrace.

A visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, US, on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Sebastian R.C. Church, 58-02 Roosevelt Ave, Woodside, NY 11377, on Monday June 22, 2026, at 9:45 am. The committal service will take place at All Souls Crematory, 72-02 Astoria Blvd S, East Elmhurst, NY 11370, at 11:00 am.
