Our daughter Elayna was blessed to have Pete and Carol as her Godparents.

My Nouno was a kind, generous and funny man.  From the time I was a kid all the way through my visits when I was in college, and even as an adult with two kids of my own, he would sneak me some cash, folded neatly into the palm of my hand.  I loved the way he would say my Nouna’s name in his distinctive voice or would climb out of the basement proud to offer up his homemade wine.  I remember smirking when he and my Aunt Sylvia would playfully argue with each other about one thing or another, while Nouna filled the table with food.  I still laugh remembering when he casually drove us over a drawbridge in Florida---that was about to open for passing ships---assuring us that it was fine as we white knuckled the door handles of the car.  He was always welcoming to me, my family, and all of our extended family who would gather at their house for an extended period of time.  He loved his family deeply, and the life he built for himself was the way he could take care of them.  He will be missed.  May his memory, along with my sweet Nouna’s, be eternal.

Panagis (Pete) Alexandratos was a man who accomplished much in his 87 years of life. 
He came from humble beginnings and was born in Kefalnonia, Greece, and was one of five siblings.
From a very modest upbringing, hard work, devotion to family and a desire for better life, drove Panagis to leave Kefalonia and come to America. Settling in New York, NY he began his journey to capture the American dream and provide opportunity for all that he loved and left behind.
Along this journey he met and married my dear cousin Carol Verso, and I was honored to be her Maid of Honor at their wedding. Not long thereafter they welcomed their greatest joy in life when their son and only child Billy was born.
Through all of the various ups and downs of life, Pete continued to be a pillar of his community, but was most proud of his roles as Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and  Nouno (Godfather). I believe that his most cherished role particularly in the later years of his life was that of Popou (Grandfather) to Billy’s three sons. 
Pete always made a lasting impression upon those around him. His business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit was only foreshadowed by his encompassing smile and love for his family.
He will be  missed, but never forgotten.
