Patricia M. Tuohy

Patricia M. Tuohy passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025 as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident on Dec. 29, 2024. Predeceased by her parents, Harris R. and Mary D. Tuohy, Pat is survived by her sister, Lynne, several cousins, Holy Family Fraternity Secular Franciscans and a multitude of friends. A native of Queens Village, Pat graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes School and Saint Mary’s High School in Manhasset. She then received her BA in English from Queens College, followed by an MA in English and an MA in Counselor Education (Guidance) from St. John’s University. Pat’s teaching career with the New York City Board of Ed began at JHS 189 in Flushing, followed by IS 25 in Bayside and, subsequently, at Newtown High School in Elmhurst where she was College Advisor. She was a dedicated Teacher and Counselor who genuinely loved her chosen profession and took delight in her students’ successes. Lifetime friendships formed among colleagues at all three appointments added greatly to the fabric of her life. She was a loyal friend who cherished her relationships. Pat is remembered for her gentle, unassuming nature and most generous heart. Her absence will be felt by all who knew her and loved her. May she rest in peace.

A visitation for Patricia will occur Monday, January 20, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358. A religious ceremony will occur Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church, 175-20 74th Ave, Fresh Meadows, NY, Fresh Meadows, NY 11366. A committal service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery at 12:30 PM located at 3620 Tilden Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11203.
