Peter Hagicostas, beloved husband of the late Anna Hagicostas (nee Theodos), passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He was born on March 6th, 1938, in Tilos, Greece, and built a life defined by love, dedication, and a passion for food and family.
A visitation will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, on October 2, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Shrine Church, 196-10 Northern Blvd, Flushing, NY 11358, on October 3, 2026, at 9:00 am.
A Committal Service will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, 72-02 Astoria Blvd S, East Elmhurst, NY 11370, on October 3, 2026, at 10:30 am.
Peter was the cherished father of Margaret Zanone and Paul Hagicostas, and a devoted father-in-law to Deborah Hagicostas and Steven Zanone. He took immense pride in his grandchildren: Adriana Zinone, Michael Zinone, and Lucas Hagicostas, who brought him great joy and comfort.
A gifted chef, Peter dedicated his life to the restaurant business, where he not only nourish countless patrons with his cooking but also formed lasting friendships. His culinary talent was only matched by his generous spirit and warm heart.
His is survived by his loving sister Stella Vageanos and Sophia Tsavaris. He was predeceased by his brothers Nicholas, Lambros, and Jack Hagicostas. Peter's legacy lives on in the family he loved and the many lives he touched.
Peter will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his love of his Greek heritage, and the kindness he extended to all who knew him. May his memory be eternal.
