Petros Ellinikos

Petros Ellinikos passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026 at the age of 78. He was born on March 28, 1948 to Kosmas and Georgia, and spent his childhood and young adulthood in Greece, surrounded by loving family and friends. Walking up a hill in his neighborhood one day, he spotted a beautiful woman standing on a balcony and fell in love at first sight. Luckily, the balcony belonged to his first cousin so he dropped in and met Elena, who was visiting from America. After a two-year long-distance courtship, they married and moved to New York to pursue the American dream. Petros found his calling as a plumber and dedicated his life to Elena and their two children. Though he worked hard and long hours, he always made time to play with his children, building train tracks or lending voices to dolls. Petros was an amazing storyteller, captivating his family during dinners with stories about his childhood friends and their adventures. He spent his life finding joy where he could and inspired those around him to live in the moment and enjoy each day.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Elena Ellinikos; his two children, Michael and Maria; his six grandchildren, Elena, Peter, Maria, Nicholas, Sofia and Elizabeth; and his sister, Eleni.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, US, on June 27, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
