My prayers for Fanny and the Wong family: that God's comforting peace is with you all.
I have not seen Philip since he left Hong Kong for the US many decades ago, when I was just a kid, may not even be a teenager. Because of the age difference and the fact that my family lived in the New Territories I seldom interacted with Philip. However, I did receive a photo of Philip and Fanny in their wedding attire. And those young faces are the ones I have of them in my memory.

I am deeply grateful to Heaven for granting us the gift of brotherhood.
Together, we endured the hardships of war—spending more than three years in Xinweizi, Dongguan, under Japanese occupation. When we arrived in Hong Kong, we shared a small rented room, even a bed with our dear mother. We went to the same primary school, growing up shoulder to shoulder.
Later, when we moved to Mong Kok, we continued to share a room. And through every trial, we faced life hand in hand—discussing our troubles, seeking answers together.
I will never forget the day you left for the United States to study. At our final meal before your departure, sorrow overwhelmed us—we could not eat. Tears were all we could swallow.
Though separated by distance, our bond never faded. We kept in touch, always holding each other in our thoughts, always concerned for one another’s heart and well-being. Decades passed, yet our connection remained strong.
Now, as we look around at the children and grandchildren we’ve raised, I know our lives have been rich and full.
You’ve gone ahead of me—taken the first step toward Heaven. But I will follow soon. And there, we will be together again, as we always were.
Until then, my beloved brother—rest in peace.

《靜靜地走過》
紀念黃國勝（Philip Kwok Sing）

他走在寧靜與心靈交會的地方，
一顆善良的心，一個完整的靈魂。
步履輕盈，風度從容，
他所到之處，留下安寧。

他從不多求，卻給予很多，
一隻穩重的手，一份溫柔的觸摸。
言語不多，行動有力，
他播下歡喜，回應需要。

他是和平的使者，眼中含笑，
溫和地看世界，輕聲回答。
愛得自然，從不評判，
默默付出，永不懈怠。

如今星光似乎更加閃亮，
微風輕敲每一扇門窗，
悄悄地傳來他留下的真理——
愛，是簡單、深刻與善良。

雖已離去，從未遙遠，
他的身影在歡笑與星光間。
而在寂靜中，我們仍能聽見，
他平和的聲音，清晰可見。

A Life of Resilience, Kindness, and Peace
A Gentle Spirit Remembered

Philip was known for his happy and easygoing nature. He was generous, free-spirited, and deeply kind. Never judgmental, he carried a quiet sense of humor and a sincere appreciation for simplicity. His presence brought calm to those around him — a rare gift.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, humility, and gentle strength. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In Memoriam

He has walked the small path of life
And returned to the Heavenly Home to enjoy eternity.
Children, grandchildren, and daughters-in-law gather around his bed,
To bid farewell to a beloved one, now blessed by Heaven.

Today, your body returns to the ancient soil,
One day, we too shall follow.
This person has passed on,
Tears fall and soak our garments.

In childhood, we studied and worked together;
In youth, we lived apart.
In old age, we met again—
These memories live on in my heart.

Though we must part today,
May we long hold each other in remembrance.

Note:
As children, we studied at Chiu Yin Primary School in Kowloon.
I still recall how Sister 喜 would bring hot meals at noon,
Which we shared together—those moments remain vivid in my mind.
Endless gratitude.

May the Heavenly Father protect, uphold,
And continue to care for his family,
Now and forever.
This is my heartfelt wish.

A heart so kind, a spirit whole.

A steady hand, a caring touch.
Not loud in word, but strong in deed,
He sowed the joy, he met the need.
A peacemaker with smiling eyes,
Who watched the world with soft replies.
He loved with ease, he judged no one,
His work was quiet — and always done.
Now stars will shine a little more,
