Robert was a devoted son of the late William and Anne Zols. He was a beloved father to Linda Bailey and her husband Nathan, Robert J. Zols Jr. and his wife Krista, and James Zols and his wife Jennifer. He was a loving grandfather to Evan Bailey and his wife Rachel, Brooke Bailey, Gabrielle Bailey, Reed Bailey, Zoe Zols, Parker Zols, and Jack Zols. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Juna, Eloise, and Banks. Robert is also survived by his former wife Judith Zols.
In his professional life, Robert enjoyed being an insurance investigator. He was a man of many words, often joking that his knowledge was vast yet not very deep, although he always had the answers to every question asked. His interests included history, cars, boats, and airplanes, which held a firm grasp on his heart. His passion was evident as he meticulously crafted models of old fighter jets, antique cars, and historical ships, proudly displaying them alongside his plants and family photos.
He also loved the outdoors and was a master at finding ways to bring pieces of it inside where everyone could appreciate it. Whether it was having gorgeous tanks full of beautiful fish, birds singing away in his living room, or plants on every table and windowsill, he continued to admire nature even through the winter months. In the spring and summer his favorite hobby was gardening. Not only was it something he enjoyed doing, it also provided an incredible opportunity for him to bond and connect with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. If you knew Bob you know how proud he was of his family. He was present for every graduation, every sporting event he could make it to, and made it his mission to find every article and interview regarding his grandchildren. When thinking about the legacy he leaves us with you can’t help but focus on his passion for history, nature, and movies but most of all his love for his family.
