Such a strong man in mind and body who loved his country , enjoyed his home with a unique workday from am to pm rain , shine or snow and even the hottest days. He adored his love Carrie more than his land. She cared and worried every branch he climbed to cut and made sure a mid day sandwich was made with a drink…… the music was great with their voices singing the jazz to the big guy Frank Sinatra …. He was a great example of what it is to take care of your stuff and make do with what you have …. We will miss him …. Vince & Toni , Cavan & Casie the Geering neighbors ! 

I know him as my Uncle Sam. We met when I was very young. He married my Aunt Marie and their families blended. At that time, they lived about 1-2 miles down the road and we often would get together as a family for holidays and vacations in the Catskills. Those were fun times! I have many fond memories of growing up with him and his children in my life.
He always had a joke at the ready. He was always looking to have some fun. Uncle Sam taught me about being positive. I admired his good nature. He was such a lover of life!
Although he is physically no longer with us he has made his mark in the world  and will be remembered by all who knew him. 
I hope they play LIMBO where he is going!


IT WAS WITH A GREAT SENSE OF LOSS THAT I FELT WHEN
I WAS TOLD THAT SAL HAD PASSED AWAY. SAL WAS MY PATIENT
FOR OVER 20 YEARS. TO SAY THAT WHEN SAL CAME INTO A ROOM HE BRIGHTENED IT UP IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. HE WOULD REFUSE A HANDSHAKE,BUT GAVE YOU A BEAR HUG
SHOWING HOW MUCH HE LOVED YOU.  HE WAS NEVER AT A LOSS FOR A STORY  OR A JOKE ACCOMPANIED BY THE APPROPRIATE ACCENTS. I TOLD HIM  OFTEN TO WRITE THEM DOWN AND WE COULD  MAKE A BOOK. BUT THEY WOULD NEVER BE THE SAME. WHEN THE WORLD LOSES A  MAN AS SAL IT IS A GREAT LOSS. MY WIFE AND I  KNOW THAT IT WAS A PRIVILEGE TO HAVE KNOWN HIM . MAY HE BE TELLING GOD HIS STORIES, PETER AND FLO SCIVOLETTI. 

To Denise, Richie, Linda and Carrie,  I'm was so sorry to hear Uncle Sam had passed away.  He just sent me a lovely Christmas card with a handwritten note and 2 photos of him and Carrie.  He was such a loving man and always the life of any party.  I always admired him for the way he took care of Aunt Mickey in the years before she passed. 
 He will be missed by all who knew him.  My condolences to all of you.  Love, cousin Karen 

To Carrie and the Trupia family, always remember that life is about memories and we can see the fantastic ones by all the wonderful photos. I can say that I was very lucky to have met Sal and I smiled and laughed so much when I found that we shared the same birthday. Like in some movies where the scene takes place at the very end of one’s life, family and friends gather at a cemetery giving their final thoughts and prayers before departing, that’s when my story begins.  Over 70 years ago when I was born, and my father was 21 is when it begins for me.  When you are young you don’t realize what it takes to be a good father, making you feel secure and loved.  Working hard to support his family, the ups and downs of losing a job and finding a new one. The stress he went through losing his wife, my mother Ruth when I was age 7.  Picking up and moving to his mother and father’s house with me and my sister Denise and brother Richie not knowing what would come next.  Because of the support of his family, it worked out and 5 ½ years later he remarried his late wife, Marie.  And yet another adventure started.  
In between all of this he showed me how to tie my shoes, knot a tie, take care of the house, make plaster and cement, saw wood, establish credit, be respectful of others.  After a long day at work, he always made time to help me with my homework and projects for school, teaching me how to catch a ball and swing a bat.  I always felt protected and loved.   He helped me learn new things to become self-sufficient for the challenges I would face.  There were vacation trips, time at the beaches and parks, taking me shopping for school clothes and recreation and supporting my musical endeavors.
At the end and from the beginning it would take me many years and seasons to tell a complete story. Putting some of these thoughts down made me realize what you forget, all the shared memories with Dad who was always interested in me and what I was doing.  I will continue to live my life with the lessons learned and he will continue to live through me and all of you who knew him.  And remember to pass along many of his repeated jokes and stories that brought joy to all of us.

Though we will miss you Dad we are so glad you were our Dad for so many years. You taught us to be ourselves and have fun in life. In other words live, love, be kind to others and spread joy.  Thank you for all the love.  Peace and love Denise and Teddy

Dear Carrie,Denise and Sal, 

My family will miss Sam as we called him.
He was so much a part of our family. Always telling jokes and entertaining everyone. He was loved by all.  We are so glad to have been with him recently.  It was always a pleasure to be in his company.

I was so sad to learn today about Sal's passing away just two days ago.   I found him to be the kind of person who had a tremendous "zest for life," as if he would go on living forever.   In fact, he looked and acted much younger than he was.  He showed his love for you, Carrie, openly and frequently, and loved to tell jokes and sing and dance.    I am sure that he will be greatly missed by you and all who had the pleasure to know him.
