Thomas A. Croce

Thomas Croce passed away on August 1, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on March 18, 1958, Tom lived a life defined by intelligence, craftsmanship, patriotism, and an unwavering devotion to the people and principles he held dear.

Tom earned a law degree, a reflection of the sharp intellect and determination that defined him throughout his life. Yet his talents reached far beyond any single profession. He possessed a rare ability to solve problems, whether through careful thought or with the skilled work of his hands.

As a craftsman, Tom created beautiful custom cabinetry, elegant radiator covers, and countless projects that reflected both precision and imagination. His talents even extended to manufacturing components for rockets that found their way to Germany—a testament to the quality of his work and the reach of his ingenuity.

When New York faced its darkest days after September 11, Tom answered the call. He stepped forward when courage mattered most, serving quietly and never seeking recognition for doing what he believed was right.

Tom was deeply proud of his country. His love for America was more than words—it was evident in the way he lived his life, the principles he upheld, and the respect he showed for others. Of all the titles he earned throughout his lifetime, the one he cherished most was simply: American Patriot.

Those who knew Tom also knew his remarkable sense of humor and unforgettable stories. Few could say they rode tandem with Dan Aykroyd during the grand opening of the Showboat, but Tom could. He delighted in sharing life's adventures with the same wit and warmth that made everyone around him smile.

He was famously frugal, able to stretch a dollar farther than seemed possible, yet he was endlessly generous with his friendship, his knowledge, and his time. He never counted the cost when someone needed help.

Tom never asked life to be easier. Instead, he met every challenge with courage, intelligence, determination, and humor. He built things that others only imagined. He inspired those around him to think bigger, work harder, laugh often, and love their country.

Some people simply pass through life, and their stories fade with time. Tom Croce was not one of them. His story lives on in the people he loved, the things he built, the lives he touched, and the example he set.

He made us laugh. He made us think. He made the world better because he was here.

Tom's greatest legacy is not found in the things he built or the accomplishments he achieved, but in the character he demonstrated every day. He leaves behind the memory of a man who lived with integrity, served with humility, loved his country without reservation, and gave more of himself than he ever asked in return.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever honored.
