Thomas John Higgins

Thomas John Higgins, 88, died on August 7, 2026. Born on July 7, 1938, in County Roscommon, Ireland, Thomas carried forward a steady devotion to family and a deep-rooted decency that shaped the life he built and the people he loved.

Thomas was married to his beloved wife, Eileen nee O'Sullivan, for 57 years. He was the loving father of Thomas and Tara (Ben) Davis, and the adored grandfather of Jillian Higgins and Blake Davis. He was a brother of Noel, May, Patricia, Philomena, Jim, Ann, and the late Florence and PJ, and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Throughout his life, Thomas was known for a kind heart and a generosity that was offered quietly, without fanfare. He met responsibilities with a tireless work ethic, and those who knew him best will remember the steady way he showed up for others—reliably, thoughtfully, and with care.

Thomas also loved visiting Ireland and had a love for music, a lasting source of comfort and joy that remained close to him through the years.

Visitation will be held at Quinn Fogarty Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358, on August 10, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Sebastian Church, 58-02 Roosevelt Ave, Woodside, NY 11377, on August 11, 2026, from 10:45 am to 11:30 am.

A graveside Service will follow at Mount St. Mary Cemetery, 172-00 Booth Memorial Ave, New York, NY 11365.

Thomas will be remembered with gratitude and respect, and his memory will remain a blessing to all who were fortunate to share in his life.
